Friday’s show at The Gone Wired featured Rebecca Leigh, Larry & DeShaun (Mighty Medicine), and Lyric’Lee. Rebecca’s debut was nothing short of success and we’ll be seeing more of her. Larry & DeShaun continue to entertain with thier special chemistry and Lyric, well, she kinda borrows your soul for a few minutes and returns it feeling somehow warmer and full.

Jazz vocalist Lyric’Lee Stated heads a great lineup at the Gone Wired.
Multi-talented artist Lyric is bringing her act to the Gone Wired Cafe` this coming Friday, Sep 11th. Her vocals and sax work alone make this show worth attending.
Also appearing will be Mighty Medicine, a great act where you can watch Larry have ‘too much fun’ with his guitar while DeShaun keeps you smiling.
Don’t forget newcomer Rebecca Leigh. This talented singer makes a definite impact and we expect to see lots more of her in days to come.

Tim and Roberta Little are bringing thier “Pickin Parlor” to the Gone Wired Cafe`. This is a popular acoustic / Bluegrass jam that Lochabar had the good fortune to run sound for at Magdalena’s Tea House. If you’ve been to one of these, we know we’ll be seeing you again. If you haven’t, and you like old-style Country or Bluegrass music, come on down. We’re pretty sure you’re gonna like this.
The Pickin Parlor runs 7:30 to 11:00PM on the 2nd Monday of each month starting October 12th, 2009.

We stood on the plaza in front of the Mariott Hotel in downtown East Lansing watching the clouds. Checking weather reports and making phone calls (Is it raining where you’re at?), we blinked and wiped stray drops away. The breeze turned to wind and suddenly died off in that classic “lull before the storm”. We figured we were pretty close to done by this time, even while we assured each other that this would pass.
Then Jessica Howe, a graphic arts grad from MSU interning with the City of East Lansing, shows up with a great attitude and a pop-up tent. Still watching the clouds we got the tent up, signs got placed, equipment made its way to the stage, and people armed with lawn chairs, umbrellas, and blankets started arriving. “You guys playing in this tonite?!”
The show went on. Actually only one of us, Ryan Knott, was ‘playing’. I’m the sound guy and I was there to record his show at the East Lansing Summer Concert Series that night. The threatened rain never showed, other than a few sprinkles, and the crowd that came out was glad they took the chance. Me too. I hope to be back next year with my own tent.
